Winters in Kolkata magically spreads peace and love. The lazy sun, the Christmas pop-ups and carnivals, the cute outfits that we can’t wait to wear; they’re all perfectly acceptable reasons as to why one would NOT want to study. I mean, we just get about a month to enjoy outdoors, it isn’t even humanly possible to make slogging our priority. So BlabberCat is here to the rescue, once again, bringing to you a list of the best places to study in Kolkata, where one can enjoy the best of what the season has to offer, without worrying about how big a disaster the next exam is going to be. And how much can you study sitting in the same place, a change in the study spot can really help bring back focus and refreshes your thinking ability.

1. Au Bon Pain
You’ve been there before, you’ve chilled their before. Now put on your nerd glasses and look at it from the perspective of Deepika from YJHD – you’re looking for some fun, right? Free wifi, delicious food, and a setting where you’ll overlook the festivities on Park Street – this can almost work as a motivating factor, you know.
“Just three more chapters, and then I’ll be there with all of them merry-makers!”

3. Nosh and Bytes
Situated in the same compound as Jalepenos and Aqua Java (Wood Street branch), Nosh and Bytes is a relatively new entry into the list of the most popular student hang-outs. The food is filling and priced very well, and we see students from St. Xavier’s College, which is a minute’s walk away flocking to this cafe.
Kolkata being a city dotted with a large number of clubs, we didn’t want to extend the list too much and so we just put it in one general category. Clubs such as the Bengal Rowing Club or the Saturday Club are a great choice during winters. The open weather rejuvenates the tired mind and one can resume their revision with a fresh mind and a stomach full of delicious goodies.
5. Allen’s Park
Research reveals that the human body tends to derive energy from plush green cover, and what’s better than an evening spent in the park with your best-friend to revise (and grumble about) the chapter that both of you hate. A picturesque view will help calming your stressed mind and maybe, certain concepts might just get a little clearer.
6. New Alipore Triangular Park
People say that New Alipore is almost like a small world in itself, with the members of the locality being a huge but close-knit family.
So when the junior members of the family are exhausted after a day of solving and slogging, this park proves to be the perfect chill zone for them to gather and have a nice session of chit-chat, and queries solving.
7. Nature Study Park
Not even one percent as boring as its nomenclature sounds, this tiny park on Loudon Street is a walking zone, a playing area and hub of gossip sessions, all-in-one. Frequented with the elite crowd, this place very popular among relatively smaller children (early teens), where they can sit and revise their lessons or read a book, when their mothers walk and chatter.
