“Let the world be fascinated you” is the message Coral has for all style addicts in town and Vibha Kejriwal’s message to her potential shopaholics is “It’s a new era in fashion, there are no rules”.
Understanding the concept of Coral: ‘Coral’ – The name ‘Coral’ was chosen keeping in mind the Coral’s timelessness, depth and visual variety. “The city has no reason to complain anymore” smiles the gorgeous owner Vibha, whose aim, was to offer a slice of international shopping spree.

One can find a range of international designers and labels such as Axara, Crea Concept, Diega, the French brand Ella Luna, Spanish brand Siyu and Nagisa, Otilia Flonta from Romania, Demoo from Korea, UK brand Orla Kiely and a favourite of the evening was undoubtedly Luis Buschino which was flaunted Vibha’s radiant daughter Tanvi Kejriwal who looked flawless in a blue and green colour block dress.
“Colour blocking is a fun and chic style that can be accessorised in so many ways. I could wear this dress from a casual lunch to a formal party and that’s how futuristic the collection is in Coral.” Said Tanvi, who plans to continue her mother’s legacy and make Calcutta the ultimate fashion hub.

Coral is not just about garments, it’s a lifestyle store that makes everyday living fashionable. From cushions and pillows to mats and glassware, Coral flaunts how to feel like a star in your own home. The scarves and shoes were our favourite picks. The shoes that we liked narrates the story of walking on the streets, rushing for work and then hurrying up the road to catch a movie with a bunch of friends, and ultimately joining your sweetheart for a nice dinner. These shoes are oh-so-fancy, comfortable and universal. Priced between Rs12,000-13,000, it’s a must-have.
The interiors of the store is inspired boutiques of Mill Valley California, SoHo, Antwerp, the South of France and more, enhancing the theme of vintage elegance with noticeable modern elements. “After this, Calcutta is fashionably at par with the rest of the world.” Said Vibha looking like a million buck in Hei Lau.
“I like everything custom made, because it gives out a feeling of being special.” Explains Vibha as she shows us around the modern store with antique pieces of furniture. Even the gigantic rusted trunk of scarves and casual tees was a gift from Vibha’s mother. “Actually, I was going mad looking for it and when I finalised on something, my mother remembered she had the exact same thing which she was planning to throw out. And now here it is, painted and polished representing my travel diaries.”
The saxophone looked as if it was found in the sea and especially the art installation made with zips, threads, buttons and everything related to stitching, added the exclusiveness to the store décor, made and created ‘The Space at 9/2” Anahita Kayan a collaboration project with Anastasia Damani. The quote on the entrance wall, “Let the world be fascinated you”, is also credited to the same collaboration. (From the makers of Where the Art is and The Interactive)
About Vibha Kejriwal: Proprietor, Coral – She is one of those rare individuals who would not settle for the mundane. She noticed a lack of latest international fashion finds that she came across during her travels. Therefore, she endeavored to bring European fashion sensibility to the city. A path less trodden upon, she followed her intsincts and took a giant leap, which would ultimately lead her to experience and inspire in different ways.
Vibha had started off taking up fashion designing and went on to use her curating skills joining her husband’s export business. At that time, (1994), she collaborated with many European designers as a design co-ordinator. She has worked with the creative genius Dries Van Noten from Belgium for over 20 years.
