The phrase ‘A good match’ has changed drastically from old romance novels to new age business magazines. While economists are happy with more women entering the work force, and even though our society is evolving in stereotyped gender roles, it’s too unfair and relatively new to generalise such data. To start the New Year on a a strong and powerful note, we select four power couples in Kolkata, each pair has a different power-packed story that unfolds their tale of love, connection and balance . BlabberCat and Pomegranate present to you 2015’s top four ‘Power Pair’ of the year.

He tones down his experiments many times fearing calcutta won’t take it too well but after the success of our fashion ventures we both proudly wear and inspire,” said Paridhi. Thanks to Linc Industry scion Rohit Jalan Calcutta got a beautiful leader and entrepreneur from Surat Ekta Poddar (Jalan). He doesn’t come back home to his wife waiting, he comes back home with her. “And it feels even better,” smiles a proud husband. The tremendous brand development he has shown is more than applaudable. But more than that its his humility and calm approach to life, at the young age of 27, makes him what he is today.
They got married just last year and Ekta has already hoisted her flag in the dominant stationery company. She handles the notebook department, supplies and helps Rohit with his marketing and sales. “Rohit himself is my mentor at work, he has never encouraged me to run to him with all my problems, at the same time when I make mistakes he motivates me to rectify them and not mull over it. We sit in two different cabins but I go over sometime if I have to ease out my overworked mind or just to check on how his day is coming along,” said Ekta. For this dynamic duo, growth is the key to their relationship and business.
All the dynamics and power generated through this special ‘power couple’ issue starts the new year with more hope shining through and looking back at how love and mutual respect can strengthen the country’s future and also evolve us individually.
