Eating out is not just optional for some of us. It’s a part of our work, networking, necessity due to circumstance and ironically our health advisors ask us to avoid eating outside food the first thing. But when we have healthy options in the most picturesque gourmet style then being healthy is a an easy choice. The entire city and many outside have been talking about The Salt House so we went ourselves to find out what the hype was all about. Our take on the resto-lounge was all things healthy and hand-grown including the microgreens. The bread is made in-house and they don't serve ketchup because they don't believe in serving any preservatives
BlabberCat's verdict: This place is an overall remarkable experience in terms of the ingredients, making of the food, environment, clean air, presentation everything. If the quality of the food is maintained this high then this is a global-level cafe bar.
Let’s have a look at all things we loved:
As you enter you’ll see a wall of plants. Yes, an entire wall replaced with shelves of potted plants. They’re not there just to provide the green touch, they are actually ingredients growing especially to make the food being served.
This is the table side pour over coffee that is brewed with a lot of time and technique in hand. This is the Koinonia coffee that makes coffee from 8 different plants sourced from South India.
Some of our favourite dishes that we tried:
(In the pic: A Beetroot Risotto)
(In the pic: A fresh Berry Salad including strawberries, blue cheese, balsamic and microgreens)
(In the pic: English scones or round muffins )
Besides these, we loved the skinny omelette and the pan roasted Pompfret with a crispy skin and lemon caper beurre blanc. There are a variety of bagels and we loved the one with added chicken. There are many comforting classics as well like our all-time favourite pizzas and chocolate dominated desserts
The place is segregated, yet connected in three areas - there’s an indoor dining area, an outdoor eating and view-watching area and a banquet/dance floor party area. It's definitley becoming the hottest private party spot in town but partners Saloni Jhunjhunwala and Prachi Saraogi have different plans. We weren't thinking 'party' or 'pregame' when we were making this place. One should be able to enjoy a cup of coffee and read a book as uch as they can sit in a huge group by the skyline and chug beers. Whether its a romantic glass of wine or a quick client meeting who watches his diet and you can't fail to impress; this place is for all of you," said the two partners among all four but we could only meet two.
