SOHNA presents the Golden Women of the city

SOHNA presents the Golden Women of the city

‘The Future of Gold’ is as flourishing as the women in our country today. When we think of gold, the first thing that comes to our mind is jewellery or something precious but for us at BlabberCat we thought of Golden women across the city who inspire thousands of people with their golden journey. Before the launch of ‘Sohna’ we interviewed 7 women who shared their golden moments with us and spoke about what gold jewellery means to them. The word ‘Sohna’ has a different meaning in various languages. It can mean someone beloved in Bengali, it can mean soni kudi in Punjabi and in Hindi it simply means gold; but the essence of the word ‘Sohna’ remains the same - ‘precious’.

Meet ‘Sohna’s 7 golden women:

Manisha Shrivastava

An image consultant who believes every individual has a golden side and they just need to polish it. Confidence, assurance and grace is what gold brings to one’s personality.

Disha Roy Chowdhury and Dola Roy Chowdhury

 Roy

Lawyer daughter and CSR expert mother. Disha thinks of family heirlooms and traditions being passed on through generations when she thinks of gold. Even though, she is her mother’s sohna, for Mrs Roy Chowdhary the golden moment in her life will be when her daughter makes a difference in other people’s lives. She will pass on her gold to her daughter then and not just on her wedding.

Arpita Sinha

National model Arpita with her father. She says that even though every daughter is her father’s sohna but for her, her father is the true sohna. He has supported her and helped her discover her golden side and today the world celebrates her beauty only because of her father’s love and support.

Abhilasha Chandak

MasterChef finalist felt her golden side was truly discovered after she put on the Masterchef Apron for the first time with her name on it. That feeling of pride and happiness that she felt then, it is that feeling that is timeless and will stay with her forever, just like gold jewellery.

Shabba Hakim

A full time doctor, part time blogger and comes from political family that has no direct connection with her aspirations. Today, she remembers her grandmother wearing small antique and rare pieces of gold jewellery with elegance and lovingly calling her sohna that left a warm and soothing feeling in her heart.

Nilanjana Banerjee

RJ at 91.9 FM, remembers her bridal set with fond memories as that moment during her wedding day is priceless but her real ‘sohna’ that is irreplaceable is her son. She remembers her golden moment when for the very first time she went on air as a radio jockey and for the first time the entire city heard her voice.

Ishita Bardhan

Head at Learning and Development in a leading conglomerate, remembers her golden moment when, she was selected as the youngest global management development felicitators for one of the largest IT organisations in the world.
